Check out this scarecrow Gaga look alike! AMAZING!And it actually scared crows away!
The short article reads:
"After a British farmer caught a glimpse of Lady Gaga, he decided she was so scary-looking, she'd scare the bejeez out of the crows that were terrorizing his crop. Natch. So he build a scarecrow in Gaga's image. Ta-da."
Thanks to my friend Katie for bring this amazing article to my attention. And I think she put it best when she said, "If there have to be Gaga haters in the world, they should all be as hilarious as this guy." Good one!
(Gaga is absolutely awesome, even when she's not meaning to be. Proof is in this story.)

It's a dog, it's a fox, it's a....bunny?
Check out this video of the hugest bunny you've ever seen!!! It lives in England and is crazy big, weighing in at over 40 pounds and having a length of 4 feet! You must see it to believe it! In the beginning of the video clip, when the bunny is just sitting there, it doesn't look that big or extraordinary, but watch in the footage where the little girl is chasing it and picks it up. It's a big one!

If only I lived in the UK!
Marina and the Diamonds, my obsession for the past year, finally officially released her debut full length album, "The Family Jewels," this week and I want it SOOOO bad! I wish I lived in the UK so I could snatch it up the first day it came out. The album contains all of my favorite songs I've heard and new ones I am dying to delight my ears with! Marina, if you're listening, mail me a CD, cause I need it to stay happy and sane! Lets pray for a quick US release!
In the mean time, I am forced to be satisfied by all my favorite songs and music videos. You can learn to be satisfied by them too if you just click the play buttons below. (My favorite song is "Obsessions" and my favorite video is "Mowgli's Road" cause it's so cracked out. But "Hollywood" is just all around entertaining and good times. THEY'RE ALL SO BRILLIANT!)

The Pacific Northwest produces some great music!
Check out Rocky Votolato's newest album, "True Devotion," out tomorrow! It is quite tremendous and he really has delivered on this one. The Seattle based artist hasn't released an album since 2007, and I haven't fully loved every song on one of his albums since 2003's "Suicide Medicine." But "True Devotion" is a great return to entertaining and passionate songs, while still retaining his great acoustic guitar backing, rough voiced vocals, and random inserts of harmonica. I've been a fan of Rocky's for quite sometime, and this album makes me fall in love all over again!
Jenny Weasley, is that you?!
Kate Winslet is quite the lady!
Just when I thought the Kardashians couldn't get any more ridiculous...
...they come out with this! Have you seen this commercial for the diet supplements QuickTrim? Oh man...can they be serious? It is so cheesy and just all around outrageous. Those Kardashians sure know how to make me laugh! My personal favorite is the sleezy music in the background and when Khloe is standing by the pool and lets go of that purple cover up. Soooo good!
Lizzie Mcguire is Engaged...and Not to Gordo!
Who knew the Duffster was even in a serious relationship? Not I!
Apparently Hilary Duff has been dating a hockey player for two years! TWO! I had no idea. Who does she think she is, Carrie Underwood? And check out her HUUUUUGE ring! Damn! That looks heavy!
Well, I'm happy for Hilary. I like her, and hope she's happy. I just still can't believe it. She will always be Disney Channel star Lizzie Mcguire to me!

Where was this at my high school prom?!
Check out the posters that were hanging on the walls of a high school prom in the Bay Area of California! Hilarious! Not only does it say no "freaking," but they had to put a stick figure picture of freak dancing? Couldn't be more amazing!
Jenny was doing photography at this dance on Saturday and couldn't help but bust up laughing at the posters. Thankfully, she shared the picture with me. Oh, how I miss high school and how people really did "freak." There were plenty of "violators" at my school!
PS. That stick figure girl really should have done her hair differently for prom. This isn't the 70's!

Portland sucks at fashion...
...according to Project Runway!
This past week's episode of Project Runway showed Heidi saying "Auf Wiedersehen" to the Portland based designer, Janeane Marie Ceccanti, on only the sixth episode of the season. After a mediocre beginning and dismal last two weeks of being in the bottom three, Janeane was finally "out" on the show. Not only did she manage to cry the most out of any contestant on the show this season, she also managed to be average at best, never making it in the top three and not having any innovative designs. Disappointing being kicked off sixth out of sixteen! However, word on the street (Janelle met her and is housemates with a friend of a friend of Janeane's) is that she is really nice, gracious, and down to earth. So...uhh...atleast she has that going for her? I'm sure Anna Wintour really cares about heart and kindness.
See Janeane's losing design from Thursdays episode. The challenge was to make a children's outfit with a complementary adult piece. Yeah, the picture says it all...boring, unoriginal, and unflattering.
Not only has Janeane proved to America that Portland can't design, but the winner of season 5, Leanne Marshall, another Portland based designer, is arguably the least memorable winner in Project Runway history. And I'm pretty sure that she wouldn't have gotten so far in the competition if it hadn't been a pretty disappointing season overall. Try and remember one of her pieces from that season...I bet you can't. Even the Portland winners are losers.
Oh well. We always have the hope of Seth Aaron, not exactly a Portlander, but a Portland neighbor from Vancouver, WA. He's still in the competition and won the challenge last week. We can only hope his rocker chic can save us all.

New bands for your listening pleasure
I have been really digging Have Gun, Will Travel for a few weeks now. It's just a fun indie folk band. It's like a pop-ier version of Mumford and Sons. The album has its fair share of banjo and steel guitar, but manages also to be something you can rock to. I say, if you're into indie rock or folk, you should check out their newest album, "Postcards From The Friendly City."
Donora is a band I just heard of this week. It's female fronted, but not in an annoying way. The indie rock album sounds like a mix between Tegan and Sara and Tilly and the Wall. Sometimes it sounds like Karen O's music for the movie Where the Wild Things Are, and even sometimes manages to be reminiscent of the band Mates of State. All in all, it's a fun indie rock album that will make you want to dance along or throw your arms around your friends and sway. Check out their newest self titled album.
Valentine's Day vs. Precious
This past weekend I saw both Valentine's Day and Precious.
While Valentine's Day was entertaining and funny at times, it lacked any real spark and was a little slow. The movie managed to make me not mind some of the actors I usually hate (like Ashton Kutcher, Julia Roberts, and Jessica Biel), but after sitting on it a few days, I realized that there was nothing much memorable about it, and I couldn't even remember any of the funny lines. I was caught off guard by some of the twists, but overall, it's not a great sign when the funniest actor in it is George Lopez, the most charming person is Ashton Kutcher, and the cutest character is a 9 year old boy. Plus, Anne Hathaway made me want to walk out of the movie theater. And poor Taylor Swift. She tried so hard, but failed miserably. All in all, it was no Love, Actually, although I think that's what it was going for.
Precious was THE saddest movie I have ever seen. I cried atleast once, but was holding back tears pretty much the whole time. While the movie was nowhere near uplifting (even at the end), it was a great film all around, from direction, to writing, to acting. The directing was a little different but worked great with the movie. I like the directors style. And the acting was fantastic. Mo'Nique really does deserve to win an Oscar! WOW! She was so wretched and vile...I wanted to smack her character, which is a true sign of a job well done. And I love the leading actress, Gabourey Sidibe; she did phenomenal in her first role. And the actress herself is so cute, funny, and charming. I've seen her in several interviews and she's always so happy and smiling. She deserves all the praise she's been getting. And we can't forget...You Go Mariah Carey! I love you all plain and acting. Great job!
Thus...I say go see Precious before the Oscars so you can appreciate it if either actress wins, and save Valentine's Day until it comes out on DVD and you can hunt down a Red Box.

Dakota Fanning...Grown Up and Fabulous!
Shaun White goes for the Gold!
Last night was a great moment in Winter Olympics history. And the most fun I had watching the Olympics this year thus far. It was so incredible to see Shaun White in the finals for halfpipe, and I found it amazing that he still manages to blow us away after all these years.
In his first run in the finals he killed it, getting a score of 46.8, more than 4 points above the second place snowboarder (that may seem like not that big of a gap, but it is!). And then, after finding out he won without even doing his second run, he blew us away again by performing a brand new trick he invented. And then proceeded to get a score of 48.4. Phenomenal. The roommates and I were screaming and yelling during his runs. And it made me happy to see how genuinely surprised and excited that he won. I like him even more now. (Not to mention how much air he gets! Whoa!)
You can watch both of his runs at the link below! If you haven't seen it, then you NEED to watch it.

I only wish Louie Vito would have medaled. I loved him on Dancing with the Stars. Haha

Kelly Osbourne, You're Adorable!
Check out this picture of Kelly Osbourne during fashion week. She is so cute! She has gotten super skinny and beautiful! I'm happy for her and have really been loving her lately. Great style, too! Remember back in the day during the Osbournes' reality show when she had pink hair, was chubby, and mean? She sure has grown up nicely. See what going to rehab and being on Dancing With The Stars can do for you?!
SCARY!
At first when I saw pictures of Heidi Montag when she went to Las Vegas for Valentine's Day, I didn't think she looked that bad. In this picture her face looks pretty normal and like it looked before her ten surgeries (but definitely after her first). Minus her huge boobs, I thought she looked fine, assuming the swelling and stuff went down since the last pictures I'd seen. But then...
...I saw this picture! If that doesn't scare you, you don't have eyes! Seriously, who would like to come home with that lying on their bed trying to seduce them! Not hot. Oh Heidi...I'm sad for you. But atleast you're a great source of entertainment to us all.
Engaged! Nicole and Joel!
Yay! One of my favorite Hollywood couples is engaged. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, who have been together for what seems forever, are finally getting married. I mean, not that it really matters since they practically already are married with two kids, but I'm happy that they continue to stay strong. For some reason I love them together. They've both grown up and are actually good people. Bravo!
We Are The World....2010 edition
Check out the "We Are The World" remake for Haiti. It's pretty good, and obviously awesome how many famous people are part of it. It's cool to see them all together in one room singing, and it sounds pretty neat too. Through this video you're sort of reminded that some artists have really tremendous voices.
But seriously....Justin Bieber starts the song off. If that doesn't make you laugh right off the bat, I don't know what will. Sorta ridiculous. And Miley Cyrus? What's she doing in there? But it's good to see that Lil' Wayne took some time off of going to prison to contribute. Ha!
I like this one, but I think the original is better. Doesn't have as much Auto Tune (seriously Lil' Wayne, Akon and T Pain, cut that out!). And the rapping in this one, although it has LL Cool J and Snoop in it, is not my favorite. But I must say, I forgot how good Celine Dion's voice is! Ha! I used to love her, now I remember why. My favorite though is Pink. She's just so great...I kinda want to be friends with her (ya know, if she didn't hate Tina!). But you can tell that the original is better when the best parts in the remake are the ones with old footage of Michael Jackson from the original. True story.
Little Asian Michael Jackson...the best kind!
Check out this AMAZING video! It's a clip from the Ellen Degeneres show from yesterday. It's of a 4 year old Chinese boy who loves Michael Jackson and dances like him. Ellen discovered him from a Youtube video, and thank god! Cause he is hilarious! And he is dressed just like MJ, and he's tiny, and he's actually good, and all of it together makes for the best thing China has given us since the Summer Olympic's opening ceremony. He's literally a miniature, Asian version of MJ!
When he grabs his crotch, it's the best thing of my life. Followed closely by his laugh. Priceless. Also note the way he says MJ's name. I want to steal him and make him dance for me in Michael Jackson clothes all the time!

This is what happens when your parents visit...
So, my parents came up to visit this weekend, and to put it into perspective, the first few hours they were in Portland we went to TWO happy hours. We can see where their priorities lie.
Well, after a glorious win by the University of Portland men's basketball team (they beat St. Mary's in an amazing game), the 'rents took me and the guys out for some beers at none other than the T Room. Needless to say, after 10 pitchers between 7 people, 3 plates of french fries and 3 plates of wings between 10 people, a 2 inch binder containing thousands of song choices, and the threat by my mother of refusing to feed me the rest of the weekend, I was convinced it was a good idea to karaoke for the very first time. Of course, the fact that I was singing Jimmy Eat World's "Sweetness" helped push me over the edge and fully commit to singing a lot of "wah"s, "ahh"s and "oh"s. And it. was. awful. (Of course the first time I sang karaoke would be to a Jimmy song. Who do you think I am? Although I would have gotten back up there if they had had Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance").
Luckily David, being the generous guy he is, sang with me and I'm sure that helped soften my horribly off key attempt at singing. I could hardly hear my own voice up there when I was singing, thus, I decided to sing loudly into the microphone and was only notified after my performance that everyone else could hear me loud and clear.
Oh...the good life. Getting drunk with the parents (and on their dime) and singing karaoke for the first time in front of them. Yes...I am my mother's child.

I've Fallen in Love with Mumford & Sons!
This band, and album, "Sigh No More," is phenomenal! I only first heard this album on Monday, and I can already tell that Mumford and Sons will become one of my favorite bands. I cannot get enough of this album! Every song is fantastic and they feed right into my growing love for indie folk. It is contemporary folk at its best, with plenty of banjo to go around.
"Sigh No More" is a joyful, beautiful, and inspiring album. So you should check out the London based band and have your life changed!
Um...Random!
Well this is quite the random pairing! Apparently these "friends" of Christian Siriano, at his show for fashion week, came in support. Who knew a Victoria Secret Model, little designer boy, crazy 90210 vet, and 90's teen movie star could be besties?
(Still...Tori does look pretty great. Gotta love Toto!)
New York Fashion Week: Gaga Style!
Check out Lady Gaga's crazy outfit during a kickoff of New York Fashion week. She's SCARY! And pretty much the only person who could pull that off without looking like a fool and that they're trying too hard.
Always gotta love Gaga...especially when she's being all cracked out like this. If she were to wear something normal and average, that would be a sad and disappointing day.
Brad and Angie love New Orleans
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt at the Super Bowl on Sunday
Tell me this picture is not amazing! I love these two, and I feel like I have never seen Angie more excited than in this picture. Good to know it's in her and she's not as serious as she's always portrayed.
You know all those Jolie-Pitts were rooting for the Saints on Sunday. They love New Orleans and helping out after Hurricane Katrina.

Snookers has a boyfriend!?
My boys workin' away in the studio!
Here are a few pictures to get you all ready for some major Jimmy Eat World madness in 2010. All the guys have been working hard in the studio on their new album, and it is expected to come out late spring...so lets hope that's true! I cannot wait! Now...when are they gonna start touring already? I need a job, after all. :)
Enjoy
Zach drumming away
Jim recording some guitar tracks and managing not to be sweaty
Hanging out in the studio
On a coffee break. Jim is so cute!
Now, my question is...where the hell is Tom!? He's not in any of these pictures, and frankly, it's unacceptable! Jimmy, if you're listening, get on that!

Morgan Freeman...gets me every time!
If you want to cry, watch this. It's a Visa Olympics commercial narrated by Morgan Freeman. It's one in a series, but this one is by far the best...and the one that hits the heart the most. If this commercial doesn't make you want to cry and go do something important, you don't have a soul (I'm talking to you, roommates!). Good work Visa.

Music to start you off. Best of 2009!
I know it is well into February, but I might as well catch you up with what you should start listening to, and what I've been loving.
1) Blind Pilot- "3 Rounds and a Sound" (Portland at its finest! One of my favorite bands of all time)
2) Marina and the Diamonds (The best Brit I've come across. Phenomenal is an understatement)
3) Sea Wolf- "White Water, White Bloom" (I can't get enough of this album. Seems to be stuck on repeat on my itunes)
4) Lady Gaga (OF COURSE!)
Best Music Video of the Year...
5) Carolina Liar- "Coming To Terms" (My summer anthem)
6) Florence and the Machine- "Lungs" (Second best Brit...but just as amazing)
7) Decemberists- "Hazards of Love" (Hazards of Love album is like nothing else...and the album in its entirety live is beyond words)
8) Jimmy Eat World- "Clarity Live" (Of course Clarity Live! Not only is Clarity the best Jimmy album, the live concert of it was the best I've seen, and the live album commemorates it all. Not to mention I'm on the album back cover)

Wanna Start A Blog? I Think You're A Few Years Behind The Times!
Well...I know it's not 2001, and it's a bit late in the millennium to be starting a blog, but here it is: Clarity Time!
After the inspiration to start a blog (from a school textbook, no less!), and after failing to come up with a clever, funny, interesting, and....well, actually good blog name, I give you: Clarity Time! The name of my radio show, it has treated me well. So, I figure, why mess with a good thing, right? Everyone knows me by the "awesome" (kinda lame) title anyway...so this is a way to pass it on after my radio show is no longer.
Follow me and my thoughts on celebrities, TV, movies, and above all, music. I guarantee you that you will not only read about my thoughts on these topics, but you will learn a great deal about new music you should be checking out.
So, without further ado....Clarity Time!
